About Our Green Plate

Our Green Plate (OGP) originally started out in 2017 as a quarterly print magazine committed to our region’s food and drink culture. The work was fun, the topics were entertaining, and the issues were well-received. However, due to the way content is distributed and consumed, producing a print publication became very expensive. We at OGP remain committed to empowering our readers and fans to live more healthful and locally based lives by connecting them to the artisans, growers, producers, purveyors, and businesses vested in a planet-friendly future. Going forward, we still hope to provide more timely content via this website.

Why? Because our food, drink, and producers in northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin, and eastern Iowa are incredible, and we think you should get to know them.

We encourage you to subscribe to our website updates using the field at the top of any page. We promise not to sell your info or bombard you with garbage.
